Sheet Care FAQ
Got questions about washing your Sweet Sheets® microfiber bedding? You're in the right place. Here are answers to the most common care questions we hear from our customers.
If I throw all my sheets in the wash, will they bleed?
This is one of our most-asked questions — and the answer is reassuring. Sweet Sheets® microfiber products are designed with colorfastness in mind. Unlike some cotton or blended fabrics, our high-quality microfiber holds dye exceptionally well. You can wash dark and light sheets together without worrying about color bleeding or running.
That said, for the very first wash of deep-colored sheets (like navy or burgundy), we recommend washing them with similar colors just as a precaution. After that initial wash, they're safe to mix.
Do Sweet Sheets® run or bleed?
No. Sweet Sheets® microfiber is manufactured to resist fading and bleeding. Customers routinely wash mixed loads without issues. If you ever notice any color transfer, it's likely from another garment in the load — not your Sweet Sheets.
How should I care for my microfiber sheets?
Microfiber is wonderfully low-maintenance. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your sheets soft and vibrant for years:
- Wash in cool or warm water — hot water isn't necessary and can weaken fibers over time.
- Use a mild detergent — avoid bleach and fabric softeners, which can coat the microfibers and reduce their natural softness.
- Tumble dry on low heat — microfiber dries quickly. High heat can cause shrinkage or damage.
- Remove promptly from the dryer — this minimizes wrinkles. If any creases remain, a quick cool-iron pass smooths them out.
- Wash separately from lint-producing items — towels, fleece, and flannel can shed lint that clings to microfiber.
Can I use fabric softener or dryer sheets?
We recommend skipping them. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets leave a waxy residue that builds up on microfiber, reducing breathability and that signature silky feel. Your Sweet Sheets® are naturally soft right out of the package — no additives needed.
How often should I wash my sheets?
Once a week is ideal for most households. Microfiber's quick-drying nature makes this easy — you can wash in the morning and have fresh sheets back on the bed by evening.
